Below you will find a selection of beaches which have already proven their worth. Note that the coast is very extensive and you may discover your own favorite beach, which is not listed here. In addition, you will find a large number of other beaches on the Internet. Please also see our section "Bucketlist Istria" where one or the other place is also mentioned where there are also beaches worth visiting.
Hidrobaza - Pula
Hidrobaza beach is located 15min walk from Olive Luxury Suites. This beach, newly refurbished in 2018, has all the amenities you need for a day at the beach. Bars, changing rooms and a great view of the Brijuni National Park. The beach consists of fine pebbles that allow a pleasant entrance into the water.
Peninsula Verudela with the famous beach Hawaii -Pula
The peninsula of Verudela, which belongs to the city of Pula, is located about 15-20min drive from Olivea Luxury Suites. It is a beautiful natural area with high cliffs from where you can admire the open sea. In between there are always small bays where you can enter the sea. Please note that some of the bays are larger rocks and bathing shoes are recommended. The water is crystal clear and the scent of the surrounding pine trees will delight you. Please note that this is a very popular beach section. We therefore recommend you to visit this peninsula as early as possible, so that you can get a parking space.
RT Cape Kamenjak - Premantura
This peninsula of Premantura, located in the very south of Istria, is about 40 minutes drive from the Olivea Luxury Suites. RT Cape Kamenjak is a must for every nature lover. It is a nature reserve. The access by car is chargeable. By bike or on foot, access is free of charge. Please note that it is a very extensive area and a vehicle is recommended, especially during hot days. Along the rugged coastline of the cape, one beautiful bathing bay follows the next. Among others, the well-known travel guide Lonely Planet has ranked Cape Kamenjak 7th among the most beautiful hidden coasts of the Mediterranean.
Sandy beach Bijeca - Medulin
In the south of Istria is the village of Medulin with one of the rare sandy beaches in Istria. The distance to Olivea Luxury Suites is about 20-25min. driving time. This approximately 1km long beach section slopes very shallowly into the water and for this reason is very popular with families with children. Natural shady places can be found under the trees in the western part of the coast. Behind the beach runs the promenade towards the harbor, where restaurants and souvenir stores are located.
Zlatni RT (Golden Cape) - Rovinj
The town of Rovinj has one of the most beautiful old towns on the entire Adriatic coast, as well as some beautiful beaches. Especially the nature park Zlatni RT offers various possibilities to enjoy the day in the sun. The whole park is considered one of the most beautiful in Croatia. There are large meadows and forests, which are ideal for sports activities, as well as for children to play. The many pebble bays are safe for children, while the rocky sections should be reserved for good swimmers. A coastal path along the waterfront also offers excellent opportunities for long and relaxing walks.
Verige bay - NP Brijuni
Verige bay is located in the Brijuni National Park. You can reach the National Park by boat within 15min from the village of Fazana. In this bay there was a magnificent Roman country villa. The construction of this villa started in the first century BC. Surrounded by the remains of the past, you will enjoy the complete tranquility and the emerald green water combined with the scent of the surrounding pine trees. There is probably no more beautiful place to unwind.
Girandella - Rabac
The Girandella coast belongs to the village of Rabac and is located on the eastern coast of Istria. The driving time from Olivea Luxury Suites is one hour. You will immediately notice that it is a different landscape compared to your accommodation. The sea is always a few degrees colder even in summer. The crystal clear sea and the view of the opposite island of Cres is dreamlike. The car-free seafront offers everything from sunbeds with umbrellas to cool restaurants and bars for a great day by the sea.
